The adventure from stage to stage unique with different locations such as largely vegetated islands and underground swamps, the art design of these levels always remains consistent however, making each area feel unique and different to the last. The level design was quite different to usual platformer games at that time, with large open areas and many character interactions, obviously very inspired by Super Mario 64’s level design. Rayman 2 Revolution like many other games is at first glance, your run of the mill platformer game, but it does some things better than other games in its genre such as the camera movement, the streamlined controls that make it a modern take on the jump around genre by making it easy to grasp for new players. With enhanced graphics, gameplay that was similar to but also a very newly vitalized change from the Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter with new features that were added to make the game unique and different, simply to make it stand out amongst the competition.

The PS2 had an entire era of putting out games that exceeded all expectations, games in every single genre that one can think of.
