It was then that the smiths of Eregion and Sauron together forged the Rings of Power: And the Noldor, ever eager for more knowledge accepted his gifts and instructions. In the year 1200 of the second age, Sauron approached the Gwaith-i-Mirdain disguised as Annatar, The Bringer of Gifts. They settled in Eregion near Khazad-Dûm, for they worked closely together with the dwarves of moria in an alliance of friendship and peaceful commerce.įor hundreds of years they prospered and grew immensely wealthy, but Sauron ever hungry for dominion over Middle-Earth was jealous of their power. It was here that Celebrimbor, last of the House of Feanor, established the Gwaith-i-Mirdain, the guild of Noldor Jewel-Smiths.
